Scrambled Eyes For Breakfast!

22 April 2009

A friend visited us from Germany over Easter.

We didn't have room for her to stay here so she stayed at a nearby Bed and Breakfast in Tillicoultry.

Being from Germany she wasn't familiar with traditional British breakfasts and especially enthused about them.

Her English, though limited, is immensely better than my German, which doesn't extend much beyond Guten Tag, and she had no problem describing the offerings in detail.

She only got one word wrong when she told us about the different options for the eggs, mixing a bit of German in with the English.

She enjoyed her stay there and said the scrambled eyes were wonderful!

(The German for egg is das Ei - pronounced "eye".)

(Having re-read this it comes across like an advert for the B&B. It wasn't meant that way and I asked the owner if they minded me linking to them rather than the other way around. I don't stand to gain if anyone ends up staying there as a result.)
