Dogs
A well behaved dog should be fine off the lead on most of this walk although you may sometimes come across cattle and, more rarely, sheep. If there are such animals present, treat that section of the walk as any field containing farm animals.
There are a couple of places that could be difficult for some dogs to negotiate.

OS Landranger Map 58, grid reference NS939973 (lay-by on A91, N56.15719 W3.70943)
Navigation
Navigation is straightforward.
Other Things To Note
In places the river undercuts the bank causing large chunks to fall away from time to time, sometimes taking away part of the foot-worn path with it. If the path seems too close to the bank, walk a bit futher away. That's how a new path becomes established as the old gets closer and then falls into the river.
During the fishing season there are frequently anglers on the river, though not on Sundays.
You may come across toads on the path depending on the weather, time and season.
Getting There
The starting point is a lay-by on the A91 between Tillicoultry and Dollar, on the other side of the road from the hills.
Alternative parking is available at 16 on the map.
The Walk
This description assumes you start from the lay-by at 1.
Follow the twenty metre path from the lay-by and turn left on to the Devon Way.
Turn right at the first opportunity.
Turn left across a style immediately over the bridge at 2.
Follow the most obvious foot-worn path near the river all the way to the bridge at 9. (There are access points to an alternative route along farm tracks at 4, via a gate, and 5, via a gap in the fence.)
Cross the bridge and head back west along the north bank by turning back under the bridge or crossing the style on the left.
The main path continues alongside the river and across a sturdy wooden fence at 14.
Much of the section between 14 and 15 gets overgrown in the summer.
As an alternative, go through the field and rejoin the route via the style at 15, as shown on the map. Note that this has no provision for dogs, though smaller ones will be able to step through the wire fence.
Follow the river along the bank and cross the style near the bridge at 2.
From here, retrace your steps to the lay-by.
