Speed Bumps
Spring has given birth to more than snowdrops and daffs in Clacks.
Speed bumps seem to be bulging into local roads at an alarming rate.
However, it strikes me that in these hard economic times this trend will bring some cheer to local garage services as the bumps take their toll on our cars.
We were walking in Tillicoultry yesterday when we heard the crunch of the underside of a car hitting tarmac.
We turned to see a car that must have approached the new nearby speed bump at a speed approaching double figures in kilometres per hour, if not miles per hour, resulting in more than it's tyres coming into contact with the road.
Be warned. The new speed limits may be 20mph, and most of the humps are fine up to around 15mph or so.
But the one pictured above is a little vicious, as evidenced by the marks on the road already visible on both sides of the hump, unlike others nearby.
