Blog Introduction
Clackmannanshire is a tiny and beautiful county bordering the Firth of Forth in Scotland.
It's official slogan, "More Than You Imagine", is well chosen: We moved here in 2004 and still stumble across pleasant places to amble that we haven't known about before.
It is in the Central Belt with easy access to and from the cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Falkirk, Dunfermline and, very close at hand, Stirling.
Clacks Stats
Size: Just under 50 square miles.
Population: Just under 50,000.
Largest Town: About 50% of the population live in the town of Alloa.
Blog Focus
I wrote that the county is beautiful. It is. But bits of it could do with a good clean up.
So this blog focuses on the beauty and the good things, but it also highlights some of the things I find ugly and not so good in the hope that shining a light on them will prompt the people who can to bring them into line.
Anything else to do with Clackmannanshire and its people is also fair game for the blog.
Oh, and as it's such a small county I'll make no excuses for outings to neighbouring regions. The blog is centred on Clackmannanshire, not constrained to it.
We also have a Border Collie who gets us out of the house whatever the weather and one of the features of this site will be to highlight the wide variety of countryside there is to explore here and nearby.
